Learn more at HonorHealth.com. Responsibilities Job Summary This position is responsible for the research portfolio in the area assigned. They will provide portfolio prioritization direction to the clinical research support staff including (but not limited to), research nurses, nurse navigators, and clinical research coordinators across the HonorHealth network. Using clinical research, and leadership skills, this position will be responsible for monitoring the many aspects of the trial portfolio assigned including timely activation of the new clinical trials, accrual performance for all trials within the portfolio, escalating concerns and issues to the HRI operational and Scientific leadership when challenges and barriers are experienced then facilitate the proactive resolution of the issue. In this role, the manager will actively develop new sponsor relationships and maintain healthy collaborative dynamics with existing research sponsored partners. The manager will track the financial health of the portfolio assigned and ensure it alignes with the operational resources assigned to support the portfolio. The incumbent will manage all operational activities in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations, organizational policy and procedures. The Manager will work in collaboration with the Research Division Medical Director, HRI Directors of Operations, and the service line management team to ensure successful integration of research within the patient care setting and that the scientific, financial and community benefit success for HonorHealth. The manager develops, implements, and manages the research divisions operating procedures (DOPs). The manager is responsible for tracking the administrative KPIs associated with the trial portfolio as well as the metrics for the research division assigned to ensure a high level of visibility for the research division . He or she also represents the program in communication with clinical trial sponsors, clinical research organizations, and strategic partners. Manager is the facilitator for clinical communication between the program, leadership, and the other HonorHealth departments. Designs, implements and manages a system for organizing, planning, and controlling workflow of respective research divisions and programs within the associated research division. Develops and implements departmental processes for the conduct of clinical trials. Tracks productivity within the clinical trial portfolio assigned. Evaluates new protocols for operational feasibility and participates in the protocol selection process to achieve the goals of the department and organization. Closely monitors the activation process for new clinical trials to ensure timely activation. Develops strong relationships with sponsors, partners, and aligns new research opportunities with the research division investigators. Proactively resolves concerns that inhibit approved research from performing as intended. Tracks, analyzes and reports on operational metrics to influence strategy, philanthropic support, and marketing for the research division and research program within the division. Regularly rounds in all areas of the department (investigators, infusion clinic, lab, research, and support staff) to ensure efficiency and seamless patient and information flow throughout the department. Meets with patient and /or family on concerns. Contributes to the recruitment and retention of talented staff through positive role-modeling, fostering peer relationships, staff education, and participating in preceptor and/ or mentor programs thereby creating an environment for quality and evidenced-based practice. Fosters collaborative partnerships/relationships with medical, nursing, and non-licensed staff. Interviews, selects, and hires personnel. Completes changes in classification, salary action, promotion, demotion, transfer, and termination. Administers 2nd level approval for performance evaluations. Independently administers staff disciplinary process through termination.
