We currently have a full-time opportunity at our Banner University Medical Center - Phoenix location for a Director of Operations Support within our Perioperative area. This position will have responsibility for maximizing performance and outcomes within multiple disciplines (quaternary surgery department, quaternary cardiology department inclusive of non-invasive & invasive cardiology, endoscopy and interventional radiology). The incumbent in this role will ensure they are strategically aligned by providing an engaged approach to capital planning, revenue management, and will provide regular analysis to strengthen business intelligence across multiple platforms.
This is a Monday - Friday opportunity, working variable hours throughout the week, which could include schedule adjustments, per business needs.
The preferred candidate for this position will have a high degree of operational and analytical acumen. They will also have experience working across all levels of leadership with a passion for presenting data to help drive business outcomes, along with planning/executing new service offerings, contract negotiations, and other high value projects.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for leading a team that collaborates, develops and implements operational processes that support the accuracy and quality of the company’s best practices, for compliance with contractual requirements, regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures. This position supports and assists a cross functional group of leaders from across the organization with tools, analysis and recommendations to Directors, Regional Directors and Executive Management on the operations of non-clinical best practices including scheduling, licensing, patient logistics, and general standard operating procedures. This position coordinates and supervises all internal and external audit activities regarding operations within the operations services.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Leads a team that provides strategic planning and direction for the company in healthcare operations and media. Supports partners by creating and providing specialized knowledge to make independent decisions. This position provides detailed and specific information to internal and external auditors on the quality and integrity of patient logistics, licensing, scheduling, and general operations. This position manages the software systems for all of the company's scheduling support systems and patient logistics systems.
2. Leads and develops a team that provides managerial direction and supervision to direct reports responsible developing operational best practices non-clinical best practices and contractual and regulatory compliance; Support Services and other non-reporting, management and staff.
3. Identifies, develops, validates, distributes and presents to management reports and analyses regarding compliance operations, scheduling operations, non-clinical practices, patient logistics, and special project analyses.
4. Provides leadership and support for the healthcare operations in system-wide, multi-disciplinary task forces and work groups to improve company and patient experience, operations, and activities.
5. Develops and promotes staff and teaches technical skills. Improves reporting departmental operations by developing managerial skills, analytical skills and technical knowledge among direct reports and staff.
6. Works closely with system teams and vendors in identifying and coordinating requests for new software systems and tools, ensuring appropriate analysis of software systems. Coordinates these functions for all areas of Healthcare Operations in facilities, ambulatory, and corporate spaces.
7. Strategically partners, collaborates, and influences teams to develop and maintain multiple dashboards and programs that monitor performance and results.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a Bachelor's degree level of knowledge in business, finance, or related fields.
Advanced-level working knowledge of principles, practices, and operations in assigned area of responsibility as normally obtained through a minimum of five years of progressively responsible managerial experience in Operations or Healthcare including a minimum of three years level experience within a major health care organization, health system setting, or large multi-operational corporate environment in complex industries similar to healthcare.
Good analytical and interpretive skills are required to evaluate financial and operational performance. Effective verbal and written communication skills are required. Effective interpersonal skills are required to deal with all levels of management and external contacts.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A Master's degree in a related area is preferred. A broad, general knowledge of the health care environment is advantageous.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
